Emma: XC Training

Emma loves to run (photo from Uppsala above) so she just joined the G.R. Allen (her school) cross country (XC) running team with her friends Chloe and Kathryn. So it was an early morning today. Wake up, have breakfast, and get over to the school for her practice at the now very muddy Churchill Park. There is a rich history of cross country running in Westdale with the high school team often having over 100 team members. Her School race is in 10 days with the top school runners qualifying for the Hamilton Schools Invitational. There are so many kids that take part in that race they have to do the event over a 2-day period! Today they ran the city invitation course with Chloe placing first, Kathryn 2nd and Emma in 5th. The trio are also on the same soccer team and are in the same ballet and dance classes together.
