'It's the little differences"
"It's the little differences" The famous first words from Vincent Vega in the movie Pulp Fiction as he describes the differences between Europe and North America. Those words are shortly followed by " I mean they got the same **** over there that they got here, but it's just - it's just there it's a little different".
Example! (#1)
Take a Paris Taxi for example. We have a taxis in Canada too but in Canada they have to take you to where you want to go. When we arrived in Paris we realized we didn't have an address for our hotel. We knew it had a view of the Louvre so took the Metro to that area and then looked for a phone book to get the address. We couldn't find one in any telephone booth and no store had one either so we thought we'll ask a Taxi driver to take us to our hotel which was close by. It was very hot and lugging luggage through Paris was not our idea of fun. Well 12 Euros and several km later he dumped us at a Monestary well outside the Louvre region of Paris. Another 8 Euro taxi ride back and we found our hotel - 3 blocks from where we got into the first taxi. What really ticked us what that when the first taxi driver realized what he had done he just drove away. We should have become suspicious when he asked at least 4 other drivers where the hotel was and we started driving by the Arc de Triumph. Or we should have looked at the liscence plate.
Example! (#2)Mike: And you now what they call a... a... a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
Starr: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?
Mike: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what a Quarter Pounder is.
Starr: Then what do they call it?
Mike: They call it a Royale with cheese.
Starr: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac?
Mike: Well, a Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it le Big-Mac.
Example! (#3)
Mike: But, you know what they put on french fries in Paris instead of ketchup?
Starr: What?
Mike: Mayonnaise.
Starr: God damn!
Mike: I seen 'em do it, man, they drown 'em in that ****.
