Gamla Uppsala

Gamla Uppsala means old Uppsala. This is where the original town was built and those hills in the picture are burial mounds. Who (or what) is under those hills is still up for debate. Also up for debate is use of the word 'new'. You see the church in the background of this photo is the new church at this site. Built in 1284!
