
After racing in the shadow of the Matterhorn on Day 3, we took yet another Cable Car up to the Klein Matterhorn which put us in the ice and snow at over 3900 metres! At that elevation we were winded just walking up a flight of stairs. Together we went into the Glacier Palace which was a long tunnel down into the foot of the glacier which opened into “the Palace” where there were all kinds of ice sculptures and an Ice Bar. Then, while Mike “iced” his knee in the glacial snow (see bottom photo), Emma and Starr took an elevator ride to the very top of the Klein Matterhorn. The views from the top were spectacular. It was amazing to see so many glaciers from one viewpoint! Here are our favourites...
