Off to Oslo

On Wednesday, Starr and Emma flew to Oslo, Norway to spend the week while Mike was training with the Canadian team for the World Champs in Denmark. Although the flight to Oslo was uneventful, there were several surprises along the way.
It all started about 30 minutes before our flight was to leave. All of the people in our waiting area got up and boarded the plane to Amsterdam, leaving only Emma, myself and one man. Ten minutes later, a plane finally arrived at our gate – there was still only the three of us sitting there – correction, two of us, - the man got up and left. Two more people arrived and sat with us – four of us in total boarded the plane. Why would British Airways even bother with a passenger list that small? Likely because the plane was only an 18 seater and we still had to stop in Aalburg Denmark to pick up a few more passengers – 6 more to be exact!
Despite the size of the plane and the small number of passengers, the service was probably the best we had ever had. We were offered newspapers, cold drinks, sandwiches (tasty ones at that), ice-cream, tea, coffee and – to top it all off – liqueurs to go with our coffee. The flight attendant was very friendly and the captain was just behind a little curtain – he even waved to us all as we boarded. The view was fabulous since we didn’t gain much in the way of altitude. The only negative thing about the whole flight was the noise and the vibration. If you didn’t hold tightly onto your food and drinks, they would jiggle their way right into your lap. Below is the picture of our plane - the Jetstream 32. Use the man walking beside it for scale!
